KAZE ARASHI RYU
Welcome to the homepage of the UK branch of the Kaze Arashi Ryu.
Kaze Arashi Ryu in the United Kingdom
Kaze Arashi Ryu (Wind Storm System) was introduced into the UK in 1985. The governing body for Kaze Arashi Ryu in the UK, the United Kingdom Kaze Arashi Ryu, now has clubs throughout the UK; please check this website for your nearest club. The association teaches traditional Japanese martial arts under the guidance of Menkyo (licensed) instructors, supervised by Paul O'Callaghan Sensei, the UK Chief Instructor.

The United Kingdom Kaze Arashi Ryu consists of a dedicated group of people of a varied age range and experience. Even though we practise in a traditional manner the principles of the system are used and applied against modern weapons and forms of attack.

We accept students of all ages, abilities and sexes; however, only the Grimsby club currently has classes for people under sixteen years of age. The techniques of Kaze Arashi Ryu do not rely on strength or fitness but on principles to weaken an opponent's body and mind.
Kaze Arashi Ryu encompasses the arts of:
AIKI JU JUTSU
The art of receiving and redirecting an opponent's energy through throws and joint manipulation.

ATEMI JUTSU
The art of striking to vital targets and pressure points with the hands, arms and feet.

KEN JUTSU
The art of fighting with blades, including all lengths of swords and knives.

JO JUTSU
The art of fighting with staves, or sticks, of all lengths.

The weapons and empty hand arts are separated for learning purposes only;
the principles of Kaze Arashi Ryu bridge all the arts of the system as practitioners learn to deal
with situations against both single and multiple attackers, whether armed or not.
